Our History
Over 29 Years of Principled Service
to
Our Clients
Aligned work is when people, the work they do, the organization within which they work and the customers they serve - in relationship to each other - function in a productive and harmonious manner to fulfill a shared purpose.
Work Alignment products were developed after those of us at McFletcher identified two troublesome trends in many organizations that were contrary to the above statement. The differences between the way many people preferred to work versus the way the work needed to be done was changing, creating a widening gap between the two. At the time, there were no solutions offered to the organizations for bringing the two into alignment.
We decided that we could best assist our clients by tracking these two basic changes - the ways that people want to work and the ways the work needed to be done - and then to develop concepts, processes and products to bring these two forces into better alignment. Later we realized the obvious: concepts, processes and products are only as good as the basic principles from which they are developed.
During the past 29 years, we have worked with many organizations in the
United States, Mexico and Canada. More recently, our studies have included organizations in
Europe and Asia. We gather information on the organizations and enter it into our database to
observe trends internationally about how people like to work (which we call "
WorkStyle Preferences® ") and the requirements of the work
(which we call "Position Actuals").
It was from these two initial comparisons, as well as employer, customer and team perspectives, that we developed a comprehensive service for helping organizations and their people to transit these often changing and difficult times.
We call our service "WorkStyle Patterns®
: Preferences and Positions of People in Organizations."
